The Open Eye Café Celebrates 7 years of Quality Driven Service and the Opening of its New Location!

[Carrboro] – The Open Eye Café will be opening in its new location on Saturday, September 24th, after 7 years of offering the finest coffee, tea, espresso beverages and so much more. At its inception, and for the past 7 years, the Café has strived to run a business that is counter to most business plans…consistent quality first, no cutting corners, and people will appreciate your efforts. A daring move, hoping your passion for the product will be appreciated. This passionate creed has found its audience in those who shun corporate monotony and general mediocrity, and prefer a passionate, locally owned and award winning Café that stays focused and strives to be the best at what it does. No one else in the industry in this area performs at such a high level as the owners and employees of the Open Eye do. From garnering awards in competitions and accolades in the community to being certified instructors, teachers in the community and judges at national & international coffee competitions.

Having outgrown the original space that the owners handcrafted, not unlike their drinks, the folks at the Open Eye have worked hard to offer an even larger space for the town to enjoy, while still keeping that comfort level high! Moving literally next door, into the old Scott Rent-Alls building on South Greensboro street, the new space will not be hard to find, but will offer more space to relax, study, meet friends, listen to live music and generally connect with your community. The added room has also allowed the Open Eye Café to offer classes in all aspects of the coffee industry, with their SCAA certified instructors. There is also the possibility of much larger gatherings, meetings and space that can be rented for private functions.

The Quality shows in all things happening at the Open Eye Café, from the relaxing, eclectic atmosphere where neighbors and strangers can meet & chat, local art hanging on the walls, to the personal service received from the well trained & friendly staff. Carefully crafted Espresso & coffee drinks, a wonderfully diverse & delicious assortment of whole leaf teas, European baked goods, as well as many non-caffeinated beverages round out the special selections available. For the first time, ice cream & shakes will be served and you can be sure the menu in general will expand to offer more of what you need to fuel your day.

For the past 7 years, the Open Eye Café has also worked hard to be a central listening space for both local and national musical talent. A place where artists can express themselves, and a casual place for folks to take in the amazingly talented array of musicians. There are very few places in the area that offer this easily accessible source of live music and the Café is dedicated to helping these musicians.

Of main concern for the Open Eye Café is the desire to be a part the community, and to strive to live up to its nickname ‘Carrboro's’ Living Room’. To this end the Café donates to a wide variety of community, non-profit, athletic clubs and other organizations.
